ZEEberton — frequently asked questions
ZEEberton is a free social app that puts pet owners on a live map so you can see who is out nearby, arrange walks and playdates, form packs, and raise a lost-pet alert to the neighbours closest to your pet. It is Android first, works worldwide, and the map, chat and every safety control are free. Below are the questions we get asked most.
The basics
What is ZEEberton?
ZEEberton is a free, map-first social app for pet owners. Open the live map and you can see which dog and cat owners near you are out right now, find people whose pets suit yours, plan walks and playdates, form packs with the regulars, and get lost-pet alerts for your own neighbourhood. It is a social network, not a marketplace or a vet-records app.
How do I meet dog owners near me?
Add your pet, go Online, and your pin joins the live map alongside the other owners around you. From there you can open Discover, which ranks nearby pet parents by what you have in common — species, breed and distance — and send a Paw to anyone you would like to meet. When you both Paw each other it is a Sniff, and you can chat and arrange a walk.
Is ZEEberton a dating app?
No. ZEEberton is for friendship between pet owners — people to walk with, form packs with, and build a local pet community around. It is never framed as dating, there is no romantic matching, and accounts used that way get moderated.
Is ZEEberton a "Tinder for dogs"?
Not in the dating sense — but the swiping comparison is fair. People often reach for that phrase because Discover works the way you would expect: you look at nearby profiles and Paw the ones you like. What you get at the end of it is a walk, a playdate or a pack, not a date. If you want an app to make dog friends rather than meet a partner, that is exactly what this is.
Which pets can join?
Any pet owner is welcome — dogs, cats and beyond. You add at least one pet to get started, because the whole app is built around pets and the people who look after them. Most of the map is dogs and cats today, simply because that is who shows up first.
Where is ZEEberton available?
The map is worldwide — you can go Online anywhere and see who else is around. The Android app is rolling out on Google Play, with iOS to follow. Our first and densest communities are in Tbilisi and Batumi, Georgia, so that is where you will find the most neighbours today; everywhere else grows as people join.
Which languages does ZEEberton speak?
Six: English, ქართული (Georgian), Русский, Français, Deutsch and Español. The app follows your phone’s language automatically, and you can change it any time in Settings.
Do I need a pet to sign up?
Yes — you add at least one pet to complete your profile. ZEEberton is built around pets meeting pets, so a profile without one has nothing to match on. Fosters and pet-sitters are welcome; add the animal in your care.
Using the app
How do walks and playdates work?
Post a walk with a place and a time, and it appears on the live map for nearby owners to join. You can invite your connections directly, or flip "going for a walk?" so owners inside your neighbourhood are alerted and can come along. Walk Roulette does the impulsive version — one tap matches you with someone walking their dog right now.
What is a Pack?
A Pack is the group that forms when the same owners keep meeting near each other. It builds itself from real meetups — no invites to send — and comes with a name, a shared streak and a members-only group chat. Keep walking together and the streak stays alive and climbs your neighbourhood Top Dog board.
Can I share photos of my pet?
Yes. Every pet gets its own photo gallery, and you can drop favourites onto the live map as 🐾 Paw Prints to mark where your pet has been. Each pet also builds a Pet Book — a timeline of photos, milestones and memories you can share a chapter of. Free galleries hold up to 6 photos per pet; ZEEberton+ makes them unlimited.
What does the verified badge mean?
It means the pet on the profile is really that pet. Snap a quick photo and our AI checks it against the pet’s profile; clear photos are approved instantly and anything unclear goes to a fast human review. It is there so you know who is real before you agree to meet.
Do I have to be Online all the time?
No — going Online is a deliberate choice, and you can turn it off in one tap. Your pin only appears on the live map while you are Online. If you leave it on after closing the app, only your friends keep seeing you, and the app tells you that is happening.
Lost & found pets
How do lost-pet alerts work?
Report your pet lost with a last-seen location and a note, and it pins on the live map and alerts the owners whose neighbourhood covers that spot. Those are the people physically closest to your pet and already out walking — which is why a neighbourhood alert beats a post that only your followers see. Mark the pet found in one tap when they are home.
Who gets notified when a pet goes missing near me?
Owners whose neighbourhood radius covers the last-seen location. You set your own radius, up to 5 km, so "near me" means near you rather than the other side of the city. Lost-pet alerts are one of the few things that still come through during quiet hours, because a few hours matters when an animal is out.
Does reporting a lost pet cost anything?
No. Lost-and-found alerts are free for everyone and always will be — this is safety, and nothing about safety sits behind the paywall. Help reunite someone else’s pet and you earn a Lost Pet Hero badge.
Privacy & safety
Is my location private?
You control it. Your pin only shows while you choose to be Online, and precise background location is only ever shared with friends. Per-field privacy lets you decide who sees each part of your profile, and you can go Offline instantly at any time to stop sharing.
Who can see my profile?
Whoever you decide, field by field. Every profile field has its own visibility — Everyone, Friends, or Only me — with quick presets if you would rather not set them one at a time. You can block anyone from Settings, and a blocked account cannot see you or reach you.
Is ZEEberton safe for teenagers?
ZEEberton is 18+ only. Accounts are age-gated at sign-up, and under-18 protections — private-by-default profiles with precise location hidden — are built in for anyone who reaches us anyway. Photos and messages pass through AI moderation with human review, and you can report anything from the app.
How do I report someone or something?
Every profile, pet, photo and message has a report option, and reports go to moderation rather than into a void. Content is screened automatically first and escalated to a person when it needs judgement. Blocking is separate and instant — you do not have to wait for a review to make someone disappear.
How do I delete my account?
From Settings in the app, or from the web if you no longer have it installed. Deleting removes your profile, your pets and your content. See the delete-account page for the full walkthrough and what is kept for legal reasons.
Pricing & ZEEberton+
Is ZEEberton free?
Yes, and the parts that matter stay free forever. The live map, Discover and matching, real-time chat, walks, packs, lost-and-found alerts, verified pets and every privacy and safety control cost nothing, for everyone. ZEEberton+ is an optional subscription on top.
What does ZEEberton+ add?
Convenience and cosmetics, never safety. It reveals who already pawed you, lifts the daily paw limit and adds Rewind, widens your reach from 10 km to 25 km, boosts your pin on the map, makes pet galleries unlimited, and adds Passport, saved-search alerts, a custom pin colour and the ✦ badge. It is $4.99/mo or $39.99/yr — see the plans page for the full list.
Is anything about safety behind the paywall?
Never. All privacy and safety controls — and every core feature — are free for everyone, always. ZEEberton+ is cosmetic and convenience only. An app where paying users are safer than free ones is not one we would want to run.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. ZEEberton+ is a plain monthly or yearly subscription you can cancel whenever you like, and you keep the perks until the period you have paid for runs out.
Which currency will I pay in?
Prices are shown in USD, and you are charged in your own local currency at checkout — ₾ in Georgia, for instance. The amount you see converted at checkout is the amount you pay.
How are payments handled?
Securely by our merchant of record, Creem (creem.io), which processes the payment and handles tax and receipts. We never see or store your card details. Refunds follow our refund policy.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes, any time, from the ZEEberton+ screen in the app. You are credited for the time you have not used and charged the difference, so your membership never lapses and you never pay twice for the same days.
I cancelled — why can’t I switch plans?
Because a subscription that is set to end cannot be changed while it is winding down. Tap Resume on the ZEEberton+ screen first and the option to switch between monthly and yearly comes straight back. You keep your membership the whole time — resuming does not restart it or charge you again.
Notifications
How do I stop a notification I don’t want?
Settings → Notifications, in the app. Every kind has its own switch — messages, matches, walks, nearby alerts, Pawcast weather nudges and the rest — so you can silence one without silencing the others. Turning one off only stops the phone buzzing: the item still appears in your notifications inside the app, so nothing is lost.
Will ZEEberton wake me up at night?
No. Quiet hours are on by default from 22:00 to 08:00 in your own local time, and you can move the window in Settings → Notifications. Only genuinely urgent things come through — a lost pet reported near you, and direct messages.
Someone invited me on a walk. How do I reply?
Open the invitation from your notifications and choose I’m in or Can’t make it. It waits there until you answer, so it cannot be missed even with push switched off. The host is told either way, and they will let you know if the walk is called off.
