This Privacy Policy explains what information ZEEberton collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our mobile apps and websites. By using the Service you agree to this Policy and our Terms of Service.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — name, username, email, date of birth, sex, and profile details you provide.
- Pet information — pets you add (name, species, breed, photos). Microchip / passport IDs are stored privately and never shown to other users.
- Location — your approximate and precise location while you are Online, used to power the live map and nearby discovery. You control this with your privacy settings and by going offline.
- Content — messages, sightings, and media you post.
- Usage & device data — app interactions, device type, and diagnostic logs used to operate and improve the Service.
2. How we use information
- To operate core features — the live map, discovery, packs, and messaging.
- To keep the community safe, including AI and human content moderation.
- To send service-related and (with your consent) notification messages.
- To protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Your privacy controls
ZEEberton gives you per-field visibility controls (Everyone, Friends, or Only me) for your profile, location, online status, pet profiles, and more. You decide who can see what and who can message you. You can change these at any time in Settings.
4. Public profiles & search
If you choose to appear in search, parts of your profile marked “Everyone” may be shown on public web pages and indexed by search engines. Precise location and private fields are never included. Profiles of users under 18 are never made public or indexed.
5. Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run ZEEberton (e.g. cloud hosting, content moderation, email), under contracts that protect your data, and when required by law or to protect safety.
6. Protections for minors
Members under 18 receive strict, on-by-default protections: private profiles, hidden precise location, messaging limited to connections, no public/search exposure, and stricter content moderation. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 13 to use the Service.
7. Data retention & deletion
You can deactivate or permanently delete your account at any time. We retain information only as long as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymized.
8. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and secret management. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work continuously to safeguard your information.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these, contact us at the address below.
